Smile Education is working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary academy within a well-established Multi-Academy Trust in the West Midlands. The school is committed to inclusive education, student wellbeing and personal development, ensuring every young person feels safe, supported and ready to succeed.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Pastoral Support Officer to join a dedicated pastoral team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting young people emotionally, socially and academically in a positive school environment. School-based experience is not essential — full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional and pastoral support to students
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support wellbeing, behaviour and engagement
  • Support students during the school day, including transitions and intervention sessions
  • Help students develop confidence, resilience and positive relationships
  • Work closely with teaching staff, SEN and safeguarding teams
  • Support behaviour strategies and positive routines across the school

  • Enhanced DBS check (can be processed if required)
