Smile Education are currently recruiting for Exam Invigilators to work on a seasonal basis during peak exam periods around the Walsall area. May – July is the busiest time due to GCSE examinations; however, there are additional opportunities throughout the academic year when mock exams and resits take place. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work within a school environment, supporting the smooth running of examinations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setting out examination papers and stationery prior to the examination
  • Ensuring a calm environment and helping to organise students at the start and end of each exam
  • Displaying starting and finishing times for examinations clearly
  • Ensuring the conduct of exams follows all regulatory guidelines
  • Referring suspected malpractice or irregularities to the Exams Officer
  • Marking attendance registers accurately
  • Dealing with any disturbances during the examination appropriately
  • Ensuring answer booklets are completed correctly
  • Collecting and organising exam scripts in candidate number order
  • Ensuring compliance with examination regulations at all times
  • Collecting and counting scripts at the end of each examination
  • Preparing the examination room for the next exam session

Previous experience working in a school environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. Applicants must demonstrate professionalism, integrity and a clear understanding of the importance of exam regulations and safeguarding procedures.
