Smile Education are currently recruiting for a Male PE Teacher to join a secondary school in Telford. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and purposeful PE lessons.
  • Teaching PE across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach GCSE PE where required.
  • Creating an inclusive and motivating learning environment that encourages participation, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Developing students' physical skills, confidence, resilience and understanding of sport and physical activity.
  • Differentiating and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional needs.
  • Assessing, monitoring and providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Preparing students effectively for GCSE PE examinations and practical assessments where required.
  • Working collaboratively within the PE department to contribute to the continued success of the faculty.
  • Supporting extracurricular activities, fixtures and sporting events where required.
  • Supporting the wider development of students through positive relationships, high expectations and effective classroom management.

The School Are Looking For

  • Male PE ECTs or fully qualified PE Teachers.
  • Experience teaching PE within UK secondary school classrooms.
  • Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum.
  • Experience teaching GCSE PE and familiarity with relevant examination boards.
  • A genuine passion for sport and physical education, with the ability to inspire students.
  • A calm, professional and engaging classroom presence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Flexibility, reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting student progress.
  • A commitment to creating a positive, ambitious and inclusive learning environment.
