Smile Education is recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join a welcoming primary setting in Stockton-on-Tees from September 2026. This is a full-time, temporary one-year position working within a specialist SEN provision supporting primary-aged pupils with Communication & Interaction and Cognition & Learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners who are committed to inclusive education and making a positive difference in children’s lives.

Pay £140 – £200 per day, depending on experience.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching a class of primary‑aged pupils with complex SEND needs
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Working closely with experienced teaching assistants and specialist staff
  • Supporting pupils’ communication, confidence, independence, and academic progress
  • Creating a calm, safe, and positive learning environment where every child can thrive

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience working with children with SEND or a strong interest in inclusive practice
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience, empathy, and strong classroom management
  • Has high expectations and believes every child can achieve their potential
