Smile Education are proud to be representing The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust in their search for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join one of their secondary special schools in Tamworth on a part‑time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive environment, helping students with additional needs to thrive both academically and personally.
About the Role
You will support students aged 11–19 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, challenging behaviours, and learning disabilities. Working both in class and on a one‑to‑one basis, you’ll play a key role in supporting learning, behaviour, and emotional development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students in lessons and through tailored interventions
- Promoting positive behaviour and implementing de‑escalation strategies
- Encouraging social and emotional development
- Working closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging learning activities
- Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment
About You
- Holds a relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (essential)
- Has recent experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Confident in behaviour management and able to remain calm under pressure
- Passionate, proactive, and adaptable in approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Minimum of two references covering the last two years (including one child-based reference)
