Smile Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Unit Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Stockton-on-Tees from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach within a specialist SEN Unit supporting primary-aged pupils with complex Communication & Interaction and Cognition & Learning needs. You will join a highly supportive team of experienced teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders committed to providing outstanding inclusive education.

Role

  • Full-time position
  • Fixed-term contract from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027
  • Based in Stockton-on-Tees
  • Daily rate of Β£140–£200, depending on experience
  • September 2026 start

About You

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has recent UK teaching experience
  • Has experience working with children with complex SEND or a genuine passion for inclusive education
  • Understands the SEND Code of Practice and the role of specialist provision
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience and compassion
  • Has high expectations for every child and is committed to helping them achieve their full potential
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one
