Smile Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Unit Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Stockton-on-Tees from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach within a specialist SEN Unit supporting primary-aged pupils with complex Communication & Interaction and Cognition & Learning needs. You will join a highly supportive team of experienced teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders committed to providing outstanding inclusive education.
Role
- Full-time position
- Fixed-term contract from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027
- Based in Stockton-on-Tees
- Daily rate of Β£140βΒ£200, depending on experience
- September 2026 start
About You
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has recent UK teaching experience
- Has experience working with children with complex SEND or a genuine passion for inclusive education
- Understands the SEND Code of Practice and the role of specialist provision
- Demonstrates patience, resilience and compassion
- Has high expectations for every child and is committed to helping them achieve their full potential
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one
