Smile Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching assistant to work in a primary school in Rochdale. The school is rated 'good' in their latest Ofsted inspection and has a strong and welcoming atmosphere within the staff team.
The SEN teaching assistant role would be working full time with children with additional needs , working Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3:30.
Responsibilities
- Encouraging independence within the class and within students, being proactive
- Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the children, staff and family members.
- Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
- Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.
Requirements
- An up-to-date DBS on the update service orthe willingness to apply for a new one.
- A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
- Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups work.
- Experience working with Primary or secondary school children.
- At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.
