SEN Teaching Assistant – Smile Education
Smile Education are recruiting a full‑time SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Rochdale. The school has a ‘good’ rating from Ofsted and a welcoming staff team.
Responsibilities
- Encourage independence within the class and with students, being proactive.
- Develop and concentrate on building relationships with children, staff and family members.
- Maintain constant and consistent communication with the class teacher regarding progress and potential methods of work.
- Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.
Qualifications
- Up‑to‑date DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
- Teaching assistant qualification or Health and Social Care (Level 2 or 3).
- Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or in small group work.
- Experience working with primary or secondary school children.
- At least two professional references covering the last two years of work history.
