Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Redditch to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school from after the February half term until the end of the academic year. This role is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant, learning support professional, or someone with relevant experience working with young people who is looking to gain or continue school-based experience within a structured and supportive environment.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils in the classroom, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Assisting teachers with the delivery of pre-planned lessons and learning activities
- Supporting pupils with engagement, behaviour, and emotional well-being
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Supporting students with additional needs where required
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and the wider school team
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
- A patient, calm, and supportive approach to behaviour management
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
