How to prepare for a job interview at Smile Education

✨Know Your Curriculum

Make sure you’re well-versed in the primary curriculum, especially for KS1 and KS2. Brush up on key topics and teaching strategies that are relevant to the age group you'll be working with. This will show your potential employer that you're not just qualified, but also passionate about delivering quality education.

✨Prepare for Informal Chats

Since there’s an opportunity for informal chats with prospective employers, treat these as mini-interviews. Prepare some thoughtful questions about the school culture, teaching methods, and support for ECTs. This will help you gauge if the school is the right fit for you while demonstrating your genuine interest.

✨Showcase Your Experience

Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an ECT, be ready to discuss your teaching experiences in detail. Share specific examples of how you've engaged students, managed classrooms, and adapted lessons to meet diverse needs. This will help you stand out as a candidate who can make a real impact.

✨Emphasise Your Commitment to Safeguarding

Given the importance of safeguarding in education, be prepared to discuss your understanding of child protection policies and your commitment to creating a safe learning environment. This will reassure employers that you take this responsibility seriously and are aligned with their values.
