Smile Education is recruiting a qualified Mathematics Teacher for a full-time, long-term position within an Oldham secondary school from September 2026.

You will teach Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, including preparing pupils for GCSE Mathematics.

The opportunity is suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs, although QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification is essential.

The school offers a supportive, values-led environment with high expectations for learning, behaviour and pupil progress.

The role

  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teach in line with the national curriculum.
  • Prepare pupils for GCSE Mathematics.
  • Assess and monitor progress, providing additional support or challenge where required.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils of different abilities, including SEND.
  • Maintain clear classroom routines and manage behaviour effectively.
  • Contribute to the Maths department and wider school community.
  • Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and professional standards.

Essential requirements

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • For experienced teachers, have completed at least one full academic year in a long-term or permanent Mathematics teaching role within a UK secondary school.
  • Have experience using White Rose Maths across KS3 and KS4 (desirable)

QTS is essential. Applications from candidates without QTS will not be considered.

  • Pay and benefits
  • £170–£235 per day, dependent on experience, pay scale and responsibilities.
  • Full-time, long-term role from September 2026.
