The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised School Administrator to join a welcoming and supportive primary school team on a maternity cover basis. This is a full-time, temporary role starting Monday 1st June and running until 20th July 2027. You will play a vital role in the smooth day-to-day running of the school office, acting as the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors. The role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing front office reception and enquiries
- Maintaining pupil records and attendance data
- Supporting safeguarding and compliance procedures
- Handling communications (emails, phone calls, newsletters)
- Assisting with admissions and general administrative duties
- Supporting senior leadership with administrative tasks
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working in a UK school office environment
- Strong working knowledge of school management information systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, or similar)
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Understanding of school safeguarding procedures
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Previous experience in a primary school setting
- Familiarity with additional school systems and databases
