Smile Education are proud to be working in partnership with The Endeavour Multi Academy Trust to recruit a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant for one of their inclusive and nurturing SEN Primary Schools in Wolverhampton. This Staffordshire-based Special School caters for children aged 2–11 years old with a wide range of needs that cannot be met within mainstream education. The school prides itself on delivering a flexible, child-centred curriculum that supports each pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development.

About the Role

The school are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant to join the team on a long-term basis, supporting a child in Key Stage 1 with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with a variety of needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and PMLD, and be confident providing personal care when required.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to:

  • Deliver engaging learning activities tailored to individual needs
  • Support academic and social development through a holistic approach
  • Encourage self-regulation, confidence, and independence
  • Manage behaviour effectively and positively
  • Work collaboratively as part of a large professional team
Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Education
  • Recent experience working with children with SEND (essential)
  • Confident delivering the primary curriculum through planned activities
  • Ability to work 1:1 independently with children with SEND
  • Able to provide two professional references covering the last two years
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education
