Smile Education are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and values-driven secondary school in North Manchester to recruit a passionate and committed Mathematics Teacher with QTS. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school environment that places strong emphasis on academic achievement, high standards, and student development. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with flexibility around the start date. The position is expected to begin in September 2026 for the new academic year.
Role Overview
As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering Mathematics across KS3 and KS4, supporting students in developing confidence, problem‑solving skills, and a strong understanding of key mathematical concepts. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages progress for pupils of all abilities.
Depending on the placement, opportunities may include:
- Long‑term cover
- Temp‑to‑perm roles
- Supply or block placements, including Guaranteed Pay Scheme options
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach in line with the national curriculum, ensuring strong progress and attainment
- Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing support where required
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Contribute to the wider Maths department and school community
- Follow safeguarding procedures and uphold school expectations
Requirements
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have experience teaching Mathematics within a UK secondary school
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and effective teaching practice
- Exhibit confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Be professional, reliable, and adaptable
- Have a genuine passion for Mathematics and student achievement
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
- Have the right to work in the UK
