We’re looking for a warm, confident and experienced Nursery Room Leader to join a welcoming nursery setting within a highly regarded independent school in the Borough of Camden. This is a lovely opportunity for an Early Years professional who enjoys leading a room, supporting colleagues and creating a nurturing environment where young children can thrive.
The nursery provides high-quality care and education within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), offering children a safe, stimulating and child-centred space to explore, learn and grow in confidence.
The Role
- Lead the day-to-day running of your nursery room
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
- Support, guide and motivate Nursery Practitioners within your room
- Create a warm, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are consistently followed and children’s wellbeing is prioritised
- Observe, assess and track children’s progress, maintaining accurate records
- Build strong, positive relationships with children and their families
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding development, achievements and next steps
- Work closely with the wider Early Years team to maintain high standards across the setting
Qualifications
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or above (essential)
- Strong knowledge of EYFS principles and child development
- Previous experience as a Nursery Room Leader or in a senior Early Years role (preferred)
- Confident leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A warm, patient and nurturing approach
- A genuine passion for Early Years education
- Commitment to providing a safe, positive and inspiring environment
