I’m currently supporting a welcoming and community-focused primary school in Camden that is looking for a strong Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team from September. The school is well established in the local area and known for its supportive leadership, collaborative staff culture and nurturing approach to early learning.

The Early Years setting is a real strength of the school, with a strong focus on play-based learning, language development, early phonics and helping children build confidence as they begin their school journey. Staff work closely together and genuinely support one another. The environment is calm, friendly and child-centred, with a strong emphasis on helping pupils feel secure, curious and ready to learn.

The Role
  • Teach a Reception class within a well-established Early Years setting
  • Plan engaging, play-based lessons following the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Support pupils’ development across communication, early phonics, numeracy and personal development
  • Create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel confident to explore and learn
  • Work closely with Early Years support staff and the wider teaching team
  • Observe, assess and track pupil progress through EYFS assessment
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers during children’s first year of school
  • Contribute to the wider life of a welcoming, community-focused primary school
Who We’re Looking For
  • PGCE and QTS (essential – non-negotiable)
  • Strong experience teaching Reception or within Early Years
  • Confident delivering early phonics and foundational learning
  • A warm, nurturing and patient teaching style
  • Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management suited to young learners
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys working with 4–5 year olds and understands the importance of this stage
  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
