Smile Education are proud to be supporting an independent specialist school in Staffordshire in their search for an experienced and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team from September on a full‑time, long‑term basis. This specialist provision supports children and young people aged 7–17 with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) and Dyslexia, providing a nurturing and structured environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons while supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
- Planning and delivering high‑quality lessons.
- Completing assessments and tracking pupil progress.
- Carrying out observations and reporting.
- Attending staff meetings, reviews, and relevant CPD.
- Supporting positive behaviour management strategies.
- Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience teaching Maths within a school setting.
- Have strong behaviour management skills.
- Be confident supporting children with additional needs and learning difficulties.
- Be able to commit to the full teaching role and responsibilities.
ECTs will be considered if they can demonstrate relevant experience and confidence in undertaking the full responsibilities of the position.
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Attend a registration interview with Smile Education.
- Attend a meeting/interview with the school.
- Provide references covering the past two years, including comments relating to your interaction and work with children.
- Hold an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS through Smile Education.
