About the Role
Smile Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Tameside. This is a full-time, long-term position with an ASAP start, supporting children in KS1 & KS2 with their learning and development. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver high-quality support, helping to create a positive learning environment and supporting the individual needs of pupils.
Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities
- Assist pupils with learning tasks and encourage participation
- Help to prepare resources and classroom materials
- Provide support to pupils with additional needs
- Encourage positive behaviour and support a safe learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress as directed by the teacher
- Support whole-class teaching and small group interventions
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a school or with children is desirable
- A passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, proactive, and enthusiastic
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are preferred but not essential
