The Role

As an Assistant Cook, you will

  • Prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for pupils and staff.
  • Maintain high standards of food presentation and quality.
  • Support the Cook with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Step in to prepare and cook meals when the Cook is absent.
  • Ensure food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and work effectively as part of a friendly team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an Assistant Cook, Cook, or within a catering environment.
  • Ability to prepare and cook meals independently when required.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
  • A positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Smile Education.
  • Right to work in the UK.
