The Role
As the school's Cook, you will:
- Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals from a set menu.
- Manage food ordering, deliveries and stock control.
- Maintain accurate daily records and financial documentation.
- Ensure the kitchen and dining areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
- Lead by example in maintaining Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
- Report faulty equipment and ensure all kitchen procedures are followed.
- Deliver an excellent catering service for pupils, staff and visitors.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working as a Cook, Chef or Catering Supervisor.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently while maintaining high standards.
- A positive, reliable and customer-focused approach.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
- Ability to provide a full two years of employment and/or education references.
- Right to work in the UK.
