We are looking to recruit a confident, adaptable, and proactive Cover Supervisor to support our partner schools.
This role is ideal for someone seeking a combination of full‑time work alongside the flexibility to undertake ad‑hoc assignments, including responding to early morning calls for same‑day cover.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning by supervising classes during the short‑term absence of teaching staff.
You will be expected to maintain a positive learning environment, manage behaviour effectively, and ensure pupils remain engaged with the work that has been set.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absences.
- Deliver pre‑planned lessons and ensure pupils remain focused and on task.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and pupil engagement.
- Be available to work flexibly, including responding to early morning calls for same‑day cover when required.
About You
The successful candidate will
- Have previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or experience working with children within UK primary or secondary schools
- Be confident leading a classroom and managing groups of pupils independently.
- Have a strong classroom presence and the ability to establish authority while building positive, professional relationships with young people.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- Be reliable, flexible, and able to adapt quickly to different school environments.
- Be seeking both full‑time opportunities and the flexibility to accept ad‑hoc work when required.
- Be passionate about supporting young people and contributing to their educational experience.
A degree or relevant educational qualification is desirable but not essential.
