Are you an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain valuable experience in mainstream primary education with the potential to explore SEND teaching? Smile Education is working closely with one of our partnered Multi Academy Trust primary schools, recruiting enthusiastic and committed ECTs to start this September.
This is a brilliant opportunity to begin your teaching journey in a supportive, well-structured school environment with the potential for full-time or consistent long-term work.
We’re looking for ECTs who are:
· Due to complete their QTS this academic year
· Passionate about teaching and making an impact from day one
· Eager to gain experience in both mainstream and SEND settings
· Keen to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and the wider school community
· Confident with behaviour management and following the schools policies around behaviour.
Your role and responsibilities will include:
· Supporting teaching and learning across KS1 or KS2 classes
· Working alongside class teachers and SENDCOs to meet the needs of all pupils
· Delivering small group interventions and adapting materials for different learning needs
· Following individual learning plans (ILPs) and contributing to pupil progress reviews
· Managing classroom behaviour positively and effectively
· Creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment
· Demonstrating initiative and flexibility to support across different year groups if required
· Building a strong foundation for potential long-term or full-time opportunities within the trust
Requirements:
· Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or due to receive QTS this summer)
· Placement experience within a primary school setting is valid and welcomed
· Passionate about inclusive education and open to SEND pathways
· Able to provide a minimum of 2 years worth of references, a minimum of one must comment on your interactions with children and teaching abilities.
· Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one through Smile Education.
