We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) who are ready to make a real impact from September 2026.

The Role As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Provide targeted intervention sessions to support pupils' academic progress.
  • Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
  • Assist with assessing pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues while contributing to the wider school community.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a recognised

HLTA qualification or has significant experience working at HLTA level within a UK primary school.

  • Minimum of 6 months' UK primary school experience.
  • Confident leading whole-class learning when required.
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
  • Flexible, proactive and committed to achieving the best outcomes for every pupil.

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
  • Ability to provide two years of employment and/or education references, including one relating to working with children.
  • Right to work in the UK.
