Are you a passionate and experienced Cook looking for a rewarding role within a friendly primary school environment? We are recruiting on behalf of one of our valued schools within the ELT Trust for a dedicated Cook to lead the delivery of a high-quality catering service. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils' daily school experience by providing nutritious, delicious meals in a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and serve meals to pupils, staff and visitors
- Support menu planning and help create engaging meal options
- Complete weekly catering administration and bookwork
- Order supplies and manage stock control effectively
- Organise and support themed food days and special events
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety
- Ensure compliance with Trust policies and relevant food safety legislation
- Work collaboratively as part of the school team to deliver an excellent catering service
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months' catering or cooking experience within the UK
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures
- Experience preparing meals in a busy kitchen environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Passion for delivering excellent customer service
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
