Role Overview

You will provide targeted support to pupils across KS1 and KS2, working closely with teachers, SENCOs and specialist staff. The role involves delivering 1:1 support, small group interventions, and supporting children with a range of needs including:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH
  • Mental health needs
  • Emotional regulation
  • School avoidance
  • Speech and language needs
  • Behavioural challenges

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality SEND support in a primary school setting
  • Support pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Support pupils with communication and speech & language needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
  • Promote a calm, inclusive, and nurturing environment

Requirements

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN qualification (preferred)
  • Experience working in SEND or SEN settings, SRPs, or mainstream primary schools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Patient, resilient, and child-centred approach
  • Ability to support pupils with complex needs, including behavioural and SEMH needs
