Location: Birmingham

Pay: £90 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract: Flexible – Day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities (Monday–Friday)

The Role

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and structured lessons.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils across different year groups.
  • Assist pupils with additional learning needs, including SEN.
  • Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support behaviour management in line with school policies.
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress where required.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children (minimum 3 months preferred).
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable.
  • A professional, caring and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible and reliable – schools value consistency.
  • Able to provide a minimum of two references covering the past two years (one must comment on your work with children).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education.
