Smile Education arecurrently recruiting for an experienced Senior Maintenance Operative tostart as soonas possible ata well-establishedorganisation based in Harborne, Birmingham.

The successful applicantwill be responsibleforcarrying out awide range ofplanned and reactivemaintenance duties, ensuringbuildings and facilitiesare maintained toa highstandard.

This isa hands-onrole requiring askilled multi-tradeoperative with experiencein general buildingmaintenance, particularlyplastering, carpentry, decorating, and generalrepairs.

The expected payrate for therole is between£16.00 - £17.00 perhour, depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out generalbuilding repairs andmaintenance across thesite.
  • Completing plastering, carpentry, decorating, and othermulti-trade maintenancetasks.
  • Responding promptly toplannedand reactive maintenancerequests.
  • Supporting the Maintenance Manager with avariety of repairand maintenance projects.
  • Ensuringall work iscompleted safely, efficiently, and to ahigh standard.
  • Operating tools andequipment safely andin linewith health andsafety procedures.
  • Undertaking manual handlingtasks, including liftingand moving equipmentand materials whererequired.
  • Responding appropriatelyto emergencymaintenance situations.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organisedworking environment.
  • Supporting colleagues andproviding cover whererequired.
  • The Ideal Candidate

Will

  • Have previous experienceworking as a Maintenance Operative, Multi-Trade Operative, or Building Maintenance Technician.
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 qualificationin arelevant trade, withplastering being essential.
  • Have experience incarpentry, decorating, and general buildingmaintenance.
  • Be physically fitand capable ofcarrying out manualhandling duties.
  • Be able towork independently anduse their owninitiative.
  • Demonstrate a mature, reliable, and professionalapproach to work.
  • Hold afull UK drivinglicence.
  • Have agood understanding ofhealth and safetyprocedures.
