Smile Education are currently recruiting for an experienced School Site Manager to start in September at a Primary School in the Tamworth area. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out a range of site management duties including opening and securing the school each day, general site maintenance, supporting with health and safety and compliance requirements, and ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, and well-maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager or Caretaker to join a welcoming school team on a long-term temporary basis. The expected salary range for the role is £16 - 18 per hour, depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Opening and securing the school site each day
  • Carrying out general site maintenance and repairs
  • Ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, and well-maintained
  • Supporting with compliance and health and safety requirements
  • Identifying and reporting any maintenance, security, or health and safety concerns
  • Carrying out general caretaker and facilities duties as required
  • Supporting with the upkeep of the school grounds and buildings
  • Managing day-to-day site tasks in an organised and efficient manner
  • Using initiative to resolve minor maintenance issues where appropriate
  • Working alongside school staff to ensure the smooth running of the site

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working as a School Site Manager, Site Supervisor, Caretaker, or similar role
  • Have good general maintenance and DIY skills
  • Have a good understanding of compliance, health and safety, and site management within a school environment
  • Have previous keyholding experience and be confident opening and securing school premises
  • Be reliable, organised, and able to work independently
  • Have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Be proactive and able to use their own initiative
  • Ideally live within a reasonable travelling distance of the Tamworth area
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS or be willing to undergo the necessary compliance checks

Hours and Contract:

  • Monday to Thursday: 6.00am – 2.00pm
  • Friday: 1.30pm start with a 30-minute unpaid break
  • Long-term temporary position
  • Start date: Wednesday 2nd September
