Pay: £110 – £130 per day (dependent on experience)

Smile Education is proud to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in B7, Birmingham, who are seeking a Level 4 qualified HLTA to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting learning across the primary age range and is passionate about helping children reach their full potential. The role is ideal for a committed professional with strong classroom experience who thrives in a supportive school environment.

The Role

  • Support teaching and learning across KS1 and/or KS2
  • Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Work with small groups and individuals to reinforce learning
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN
  • Assist with planning, assessment and progress tracking
  • Create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers
  • Uphold safeguarding and inclusion at all times

Requirements

  • HLTA qualification – Level 4 (ESSENTIAL)
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils is highly desirable
  • Confident delivering lessons and supporting whole-class learning
  • Professional, caring and proactive approach
  • Reliable and committed to a full-time role
  • Able to provide at least 2 references covering the last 2 years (one must reference work with children)
  • Hold an enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education
