We’re looking for a warm, committed SEN Teacher to join our friendly specialist SEN school in the Barking area this September. This is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working with children as individuals and takes pride in supporting pupils with additional needs to reach their full potential. Our pupils have a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs. Every child is unique, and we take the time to understand what helps them feel safe, confident and ready to learn. Our classrooms are calm, structured and nurturing, with a strong focus on building trust and positive relationships.
The Role
- Teach small classes of pupils with a range of special educational needs
- Deliver personalised, engaging lessons that reflect each child’s strengths and needs
- Support pupils with their academic learning, emotional regulation and social development
- Create a predictable, supportive classroom environment where pupils feel safe and valued
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and families to provide consistent support
- Track progress and celebrate achievements, no matter how big or small

- PGCE and QTS (essential)
- Experience working with SEN pupils is highly desirable
- Primary-trained teachers are very welcome
