About the Role

We are working with a network of inclusive and forward-thinking primary and secondary schools in Barking, seeking motivated graduates to join as Learning & Inclusion Mentors. This role offers hands-on experience supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs in dynamic classroom settings.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
  • Helping create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
  • Supporting students’ emotional, social, and academic development
  • Monitoring progress and contributing to student support plans
  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and active participation

Who We’re Looking For

  • A graduate (Arts, Psychology, Education, or Science backgrounds welcome)
  • Experience working with children or young people (school, tutoring, care, coaching, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, empathetic approach
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable under pressure
  • A genuine interest in SEND, education, or child development
  • Teaching Assistant qualifications are a bonus, but not essential
