Smile Education are recruiting for an experienced 1:1 SEN teaching assistant to work in a first school within the Bromsgrove area, full time until the end of the academic year with a child in reception. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will run for the full academic year and offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, values-led school environment that places pupils at the heart of everything it does.

The school is a friendly, inclusive primary school with a strong community ethos. Staff work closely together to ensure pupils are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will:

  • Work within the nest with other senior members of staff
  • Provide classroom support under the direction of the class teacher
  • Support pupils with varying abilities, including those needing additional support
  • Help maintain a positive, engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other teaching assistants

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (ideal)
  • If no qualification, a minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a school is essential
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school setting or SEN setting
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Commitment to supporting children’s learning and development
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
