Smile Education is working in partnership with a college near Solihull to recruit an experienced and passionate Electrical Lecturer to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with industry experience in Electrical Installation to share their knowledge, skills and expertise with students preparing for careers within the electrical trades. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality vocational education and supporting learners to develop the practical skills and knowledge required for success in the industry.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons in Electrical Installation to students across Further Education programmes.
  • Share your industry knowledge and practical experience to support students’ learning and development.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality teaching sessions that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Assess learners’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
  • Support students in developing the technical skills required for future careers within the electrical industry.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
  • Has relevant industry experience within the electrical sector.
  • Is passionate about supporting and inspiring the next generation of tradespeople.
  • Holds, or is willing to work towards, a Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • Holds, or is willing to work towards, a Level 3 assessing qualification.
  • Has strong communication skills and the ability to engage learners of varying abilities.
  • Is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

This role would suit an experienced Electrical Installer looking to move into education, or an existing Further Education Lecturer looking for a new opportunity. Candidates new to teaching or with fewer than five years’ experience within Further Education may also be eligible for a targeted retention incentive payment, subject to eligibility.
