Smile Education is working in partnership with a leading Further Education provider in Solihull to recruit an experienced and passionate Brickwork Lecturer to join their Construction team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with industry experience in Brickwork to share their knowledge, skills and expertise with students preparing for careers within the construction sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality vocational education and supporting learners to develop the practical skills and knowledge required to succeed within the industry.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons in Brickwork to students across Further Education programmes.
- Share your industry knowledge and practical experience to support learners’ development.
- Plan and deliver high-quality teaching sessions that meet curriculum requirements.
- Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Support learners in developing the technical skills required for future careers within the construction industry.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a Level 3 qualification in Brickwork.
- Has relevant industry experience within the construction sector.
- Holds a relevant Level 5 teaching qualification or is committed to working towards this in line with contractual requirements.
- Holds, or is willing to work towards, a Level 3 Assessor Award.
- Has experience supporting and developing learners within an educational or training environment (desirable).
- Has strong communication skills and the ability to inspire students of varying abilities.
- Is passionate about helping the next generation of construction professionals succeed.
This role would particularly suit candidates with a background in Bricklaying, Construction, vocational training, assessing, mentoring or those looking to transition from industry into Further Education.
