Smile Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching assistant to work in an all through SEN school in central Birmingham. The school is rated ‘good’ in their latest Ofsted inspection and has a strong and welcoming atmosphere within the staff team.

The SEN teaching assistant role would be working full time on a 1:1 basis with secondary school child with challenging behaviour, working Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3:30.
The Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
Have a sole focus on working 1:1 Basis with a child in secondary school
Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the child, staff and family members.
Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.

An up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups work.
Experience working with Primary or secondary school children.
At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.
