This is an exciting opportunity to lead a specialist resource base, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs while working within a highly supportive school community.

With small class sizes, multiple Teaching Assistants in every classroom, and a leadership team committed to inclusive education, you'll have the time, resources and support to deliver truly personalised learning that changes lives.

The Role

  • Lead and manage the specialist resource base within the primary school.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and highly differentiated lessons.
  • Create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment where every child feels safe, valued and confident.
  • Adapt the curriculum to meet a wide range of SEND needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to EHCP outcomes.
  • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, producing high-quality reports.
  • Lead, support and effectively deploy multiple Teaching Assistants within the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, Senior Leadership Team and external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Educational Psychologists.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child.
  • Champion inclusive practice across the school and contribute to the ongoing development of the specialist provision.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping children with additional needs flourish. You'll have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs within a specialist provision, resource base or mainstream setting with significant SEND experience.
  • Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating staff is desirable, although ambitious teachers looking to progress into leadership are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent knowledge of SEND strategies and adaptive teaching.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and support both pupils and colleagues.
  • A patient, resilient and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Be able to provide two years of professional references, including comments on your work with children.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through Smile Education.
