Isolation Room Supervisor / Behaviour Support – Secondary School

Location: Redditch

Start Date: 23rd February

Contract: Full-time

Smile Education is recruiting an Isolation Room Supervisor / Behaviour Support Officer to work within a secondary school in Redditch, starting 23rd February. This is a key pastoral role supporting students who require time out of mainstream lessons due to behaviour or conduct concerns. The successful candidate will provide structured supervision, promote positive behaviour choices, and support students to reflect and reintegrate successfully into lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students placed in the isolation / reflection room
  • Ensure students complete assigned work in a calm and structured environment
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy
  • Support students with emotional regulation and reflection on behaviour choices
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with teaching and pastoral staff
  • Support safe and orderly transitions back into lessons
  • Uphold safeguarding and pastoral procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally in behaviour support, pastoral, youth work, or education roles
  • Confident, calm, and consistent approach to behaviour management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build respectful, professional relationships with students
  • Resilient, reliable, and professional manner
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Experience working in isolation, reflection, inclusion, or behaviour units is highly desirable but not essential.
