Smile Education are recruiting qualified Secondary Teachers with QTS to support schools across Oldham from September 2026. This is open to teachers across all subject specialisms who are still looking for work for the new academic year. Opportunities are available on a short-term, long-term, part-time and full-time basis. We are interested in speaking with experienced teachers, ECTs, returning teachers and teachers looking for a new school from September. QTS is essential. Applicants without QTS will not be considered for teaching roles.

Role Overview

  • As a Secondary Teacher, you will deliver lessons within your subject specialism across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities depending on the school.
  • Roles may include day-to-day supply, short-term cover, block bookings or longer-term placements with planning and marking responsibilities.
  • We are recruiting across all secondary subjects, including Maths, English, Science, Humanities, PE, MFL, RE, DT, Food Technology, Art, Drama, Music, ICT, Computer Science, Business and Social Sciences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons within your subject specialism.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities where suitable.
  • Follow school curriculum plans and department expectations.
  • Plan and mark work where required for longer-term roles.
  • Maintain strong classroom routines and behaviour management.
  • Support pupils of varying abilities, including SEND.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Uphold safeguarding and professional standards.

Requirements

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification is essential.
  • Experience teaching within a UK secondary school is required.
  • Strong subject knowledge is essential.
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.
  • You must be reliable, professional and confident managing behaviour.
  • You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.

Pay and Benefits

  • £170–£235 per day, dependent on experience and role responsibilities.
