About the Role:
Smile Education is recruiting a confident and motivated Graduate Cover Supervisor to support a welcoming and well-established secondary school in Oldham. This long-term, full-time role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals considering a future career in teaching, education, or youth work. As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will gain hands-on classroom experience, working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supervising lessons during teacher absence and supporting pupils to stay engaged and on task. This role is an excellent stepping stone into teacher training, PGCE routes, or school-based roles.
Role Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 using pre-prepared lesson plans
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies
- Support pupils with their learning and encourage positive engagement
- Maintain a calm, safe, and productive classroom environment
- Take accurate registers and report any concerns to teaching staff
- Gain experience across a range of subjects and year groups
- Support the wider school team when required
