Smile Education is recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEND) to join a welcoming primary school in Stockton-on-Tees. This is an excellent opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to help pupils achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

About you

  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Has recent UK experience working within a primary school
  • Has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Has a good understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the graduated approach to SEND provision
  • Can deliver planned learning activities and adapt support to meet individual pupil needs
  • Works effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and the wider school community
  • Is patient, organised, professional and committed to helping every child succeed
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one
