Looking for a Food Technology teaching role in a supportive secondary school environment? Smile Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in Solihull seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join from September 2026.

The successful candidate will teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that inspire students to develop their culinary skills, nutrition knowledge, and confidence in the kitchen. This role would suit an experienced teacher, ECT, or a teacher returning to the classroom looking for a positive and supportive working environment.

The Role
  • Teach Food Technology across KS3–KS4
  • Deliver engaging practical and theory-based Food Technology lessons
  • Develop students' understanding of nutrition, food preparation, hygiene, and healthy eating
  • Support student progress and assessment through practical and written work
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and health and safety within the food technology classroom
  • Work collaboratively within the wider Design & Technology department
What We’re Looking For
  • QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and kitchen health and safety
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable approach
