Full‑time teaching assistant role providing 1:1 support for a child with highly complex additional needs, based in Wolverhampton, available from the Autumn Term with a long‑term placement potentially until July 2027.
About the Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with highly complex additional needs.
- Deliver engaging, tailored activities to support the child's learning and development.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team.
- Support the child's emotional, educational and physical wellbeing throughout the school day.
- Assist with personal care where required.
- Deliver medical care following specialist training (full specialist training will be provided; previous experience desirable but not essential).
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Recent experience supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 desirable).
- Experience supporting children with complex needs.
- Previous experience delivering medical care is advantageous but not essential.
- Confidence working independently whilst also being an effective member of a wider classroom team.
- Patient, caring and flexible approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
