Smile Education is recruiting on behalf of one of our welcoming and supportive mainstream primary schools in the Middlesbrough area for an Early Years Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working in a Day Nursery who is looking to take the next step into a primary school setting, or for an experienced Early Years professional seeking a fresh challenge within a nurturing school environment.

The Role
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support children within the Early Years setting, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Work with children aged up to 5 years old.
- Deliver targeted one-to-one support and lead small group activities.
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently when required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A recognised Early Years qualification (essential – alternative qualifications will not be considered).
- A sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Framework.
- At least 6 months of UK-based experience working within an Early Years setting.
- Experience supporting children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- The ability to take direction from the class teacher and adapt to the needs of the children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Confidence working independently and alongside other professionals.
