Smile Education is looking for Cover Supervisors and graduate Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools in the Moston area! This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience in the education sector, whether you are a recent graduate or an aspiring teacher.
As a Cover Supervisor you will:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
- Supervise students across a range of secondary subjects
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed
- Support student learning and classroom behaviour management
A typical day will include:
- Checking for any specific instructions or a schedule for the day and gather necessary materials for lessons.
- Supervising classes, supporting students with their work or provide 1:1 support if necessary.
- Assist with supervising students during break times or lunch, helping to maintain a positive and safe environment outside the classroom.
- Speak with the regular teachers at the end of the day to give feedback on how the lessons went, including student progress and any issues that occurred.
This Cover Supervisor role is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in education or gain classroom experience before teacher training.
To be successful you will have:
- An undergraduate degree is desirable but not essential (2:2 or above)
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
