Smile Education are seeking a Dance and Drama Teacher for a maternity cover role at a secondary school in West Bromwich. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic performing arts specialist to join a supportive department and contribute to a thriving creative curriculum. The role is due to start after February Half Term.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Dance and Drama across KS3 & KS4
  • Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
  • Prepare students for assessments and performance work
  • Support confidence, teamwork and creative expression
  • Use inclusive teaching approaches to support all learners
  • Contribute to productions, clubs and wider arts enrichment
  • Maintain strong classroom management and a positive environment

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Dance/Drama/Performing Arts Teachers
  • ECTs and early career teachers
  • Industry practitioners with teaching experience + QTS
  • Specialists with strong performance or choreography experience

Ideally you will demonstrate:

  • Strong subject knowledge in Dance and/or Drama
  • Confidence delivering practical workshops and performance tasks
  • Excellent communication and learner engagement
  • Professional standards and reliability
  • A passion for supporting young people’s creative development
