The Role
- Lead the day‑to‑day teaching and development of the school's specialist resource base, ensuring every pupil receives high‑quality, tailored support to achieve their full potential.
- Lead and manage the specialist resource base within the primary school.
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative and highly differentiated lessons.
- Create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment where every child feels safe, valued and confident.
- Adapt the curriculum to meet a wide range of SEND needs.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to EHCP outcomes.
- Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, producing high‑quality reports.
- Lead, support and effectively deploy multiple Teaching Assistants within the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO, Senior Leadership Team and external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Educational Psychologists.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child.
- Champion inclusive practice across the school and contribute to the ongoing development of the specialist provision.
About You
- We're looking for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping children with additional needs flourish.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs within a specialist provision, resource base or mainstream setting with significant SEND experience.
- Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating staff is desirable, although ambitious teachers looking to progress into leadership are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent knowledge of SEND strategies and adaptive teaching.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
- The ability to inspire, motivate and support both pupils and colleagues.
- A patient, resilient and compassionate approach.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.

- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
