SEND Teaching Assistant – Young Adults with Complex Needs
Location: Northfield, Birmingham Pay: £100–£125 per day (depending on experience) Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday (Term Time) Start Date: September 2026
Smile Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist college in Northfield, Birmingham.
This full‑time role supports young adults aged 19‑25 with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex learning needs, helping them develop communication, independence and essential life skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role
- Support students with learning, communication and personal development.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver engaging, tailored learning activities.
- Adapt resources and classroom activities to meet individual learning needs.
- Encourage confidence, independence and participation in all aspects of college life.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Help maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
