SEN Learning support – Full time (alternative provision) (SEN, Behaviour management) Location: B16

Pay : Β£85.00 – Β£110.00
Contract – Full time (Long term potential) Monday – Friday

About the Role The successful candidate will be fully immersed in school life, acting as a positive role model, keeping learners engaged and supporting them in achieving their full potential. You will be supporting children with a wide range of additional needs, including:

SLCN – Speech, Language and Communication Needs
ASD – Autistic Spectrum Disorder
MSI – Multi-Sensory Impairment
MLD – Moderate Learning Difficulty
SLD – Severe Learning Difficulty
PMLD – Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty
ADHD – Severe Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Mental Health – Anxiety , depression and OD

Children with complex needs and learning difficulties who are now thriving outside of mainstream education – smaller classes (close knit environment)
Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
Confidently delivering and supporting planned activities
Promoting positive behaviour, independence, and engagement
Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team
Providing consistent, nurturing support tailored to individual needs
Ability to spot triggers and high intensity situations – Defusal, calming and distraction techniques.
Essential Requirements

Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
Ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
Team Teach – Behaviour management qualification or training.
Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
