We are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant to work on a full-time, long-term basis at a welcoming Catholic primary school located in the B43 area of Birmingham. This teaching assistant role will run for the full academic year and offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, values-led school environment that places pupils at the heart of everything it does.

The school is a friendly, inclusive Catholic primary school with a strong community ethos. Staff work closely together to ensure pupils are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. The school promotes high expectations, positive behaviour, and a nurturing learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
As a teaching assistant, you will:
- Work mornings supporting Year 3 pupils in class
- Work afternoons supporting Year 5 pupils
- Deliver intervention group work to support attainment and progress
- Provide classroom support under the direction of the class teacher
- Support pupils with varying abilities, including those needing additional support
- Help maintain a positive, engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other teaching assistants
Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (ideal)
- If no qualification, a minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a school is essential
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant in a primary school setting
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Commitment to supporting children’s learning and development
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
