Smile Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-established specialist college in Northfield, Birmingham. This full-time role offers the opportunity to support young adults aged 19–25 with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex learning needs as they develop communication, independence and essential life skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

You will be joining a well-established specialist further education college that is dedicated to supporting young adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs. The college provides a personalised, student-centred curriculum that focuses on communication, independence, community inclusion and preparing students for adulthood. Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will help create meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, encourage independence and celebrate every achievement—no matter how big or small.

The Role

  • Support students with their learning, communication and personal development.
